The body of a man who went missing during a storm in Ras Al Khaimah last week was found in Oman on Thursday.
Mag Gen Ali Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of RAK Police said the body of the Asian man was found in Ghumda after he was reported missing last Saturday.
He said the man is believed to have been swept away during a flash flood and carried into Oman.
A search and rescue team - made up of members of Dubai and RAK Police, the Armed Forces, Police Air Wing and the K9 unit - had been intensively looking for the man for six days.
His body was found washed up on some rocks on the shore of Ghumda by the Royal Oman Police, who alerted RAK Police.
On confirmation, the body was taken to the hospital morgue to hand over to relatives for burial.
"The search and rescue teams made strenuous efforts to find the body, searching day and night for six days," said Brig Dr Mohammed Al Hamidi, head of the Search and Rescue Team.
"The force of the floodwater pushed the body out of the dam to the sea which took the corpse to Ghumda in Oman."
