Fans of Filipina actress Lovi Poe, listen up! The Annulment star is set to make an celebrity guest appearance at the Bench Chess Festival at BurJuman mall in Bur Dubai. It is the first time the festival has been held, and Poe will officially inaugurate it on Friday, November 8.
Running for five days, the chess festival will have tournaments and exhibitions, from Friday, November 8 until Tuesday, November 12. It claims to be the biggest chess festival in the UAE.

The festival is open to everyone, and will be located in BurJuman’s main atrium. There will be a giant chess competition, various chess exhibitions, quizzes and puzzles, as well as a rapid chess tournament. Augusto Marcial, the founding president of the UAE's Expat Chess Club will judge the tournament.
If you're a newcomer to the game, there will also be a clinic, teaching chess techniques to newbies.

The chess tournament is being hosted by Filipino brand Bench, which Poe is one of the faces of.
It will coincide with the opening of a new Bench store in Sharjah on Thursday, November 7, which she will also officially open.
Poe will be making the following in-store appearances: Al Wahda Mall, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, November 6, 6pm; Satwa, Dubai on Thursday, November 7, noon; Al Wahda Street, Sharjah on Thursday, November 7, 5pm; Al Ghurair Centre, Dubai on Friday, November 8, 10.30am; BurJuman, Dubai on Friday, November 8, 2pm-5pm.
