Cooler temperatures are most likely to be felt in the Northern Emirates on Saturday as the UAE welcomes respite from the searing heat of recent days.

Although it will remain partly cloudy and hazy at times, it could drop to about 31C in Ras al Khaimah, whilst Abu Dhabi will enjoy daytime temperatures of 36C.

Similar temperatures will be felt in Dubai, at 35C, and there will be light to moderate winds bringing the potential for blowing dust through exposed areas into mid-afternoon.

Overnight humidity is set to continue, particularly over coastal regions, with a further chance of mist and fog forming into Sunday morning.

That should clear as the heat of the day builds, but it promises to be cloudy with sunny spells on the last day of the long weekend. Temperatures will again peak at the mid-30s in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Sunday and that is set to continue into the new working week.

Monday will bring an increased risk of showers in the south of the country, as cloud builds through coastal areas but it will remain warm, with temperatures likely to increase towards 40C by midweek.
