Traffic was at a standstill in Dubai following a crash near Emirates Hills this morning. The accident took place near the entrance to the Lakes at the corner of First Al Khail and Al Rafif Street.
The police and ambulance services were at the scene and there were reports of a burnt-out car at the side of the road.
There were also delays in Sharjah at Safeer Mall and Al Wahda Street due to high volumes of traffic.
There are also significant tailbacks on the Sheikh Zayed Road in the emirate with delays caused by a high volume of cars travelling outbound towards Dubai.
