UAE celebrates Saudi Arabia's national day with custom emoji and message

Some Etisalat and du users may notice a special message across the tops of their phones on Wednesday.

To celebrate Saudi Arabia’s 87th national day on September 23, the telecommunications providers rolled out a message reading “UAE KSA Together” that is expected to run until Saturday.

Twitter users can also express their solidarity with the Kingdom using an Arabic hashtag of the slogan “together_always” which produces an emoji of King Salman and the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

On Wednesday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, congratulated "all our brothers and sisters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on their 87th national day"

On Twitter he said "may God bring glory on the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince."

Using the hashtag he said "Together forever, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, their success is our success, their country is our country and their ruler is our pride. Together forever in fate, in the service of Islam and in defence of our country.

"The joy of the Kingdom is the joy of the UAE and it's people. "God save the Kingdom, it's King and it's people."

Last year, the UAE celebrated the Kingdom’s national day by renaming a major street in Dubai after King Salman.

Al Sufouh Street was renamed on the ordered of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to reflect “the historically strong relations between the UAE and the kingdom of ­Saudi Arabia and recognises the kingdom’s vision and role in enhancing solidarity ­between Arab nations,” Dubai Media Office said.

A number of landmarks across the country were also lit up in green to echo the Kingdom’s flag.
