Umm Al Quwain are giving motorists a 50 per cent discount on traffic violations.

Motorists who received a traffic fine before March 19 in Umm Al Quwain will be eligible as part of ongoing celebrations to mark the Year of Tolerance, and the discount will continue until May 4.

Col Said Bin Aran, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Umm Al Quwain Police, said the discount scheme will increase happiness rates among people and reduce the financial burden on drivers.

He urged people to take advantage of the discount period to pay accumulated fines and renew vehicle registartions.
