Visibility was reduced across Dubai today as a sandstorm hit the city.

Beachgoers were greeted by unsavoury conditions and the city's skyline became faint as the dust lingered in the air.

The fresh winds from the southeast initially caused blowing dust over some areas this morning with visibility as low as 3,000 metres before it became worse.

Blowing dust was also reported over Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Bateen Airport, and Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport. It also been reported over Sweihan, with a visibility of 2,000 metres.

Otherwise, the National Center for Meteorology reported fair weather in general that could be partly cloudy throughout the day. There will be more clouds over some Eastern and Western areas.
