New images of Dubai's Sky Garden Bridge revealed
A model of the project is on display at the World Road Congress
New images of a sky garden bridge that is tipped to transform Dubai Creek have been released.
The 380-metre long by 60-metre high footbridge will feature cycling and running areas, shops and shaded areas once completed in early 2021.
The bridge was designed by Hong Kong architecture company LWK + Partners.
A model of the project is on display at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority’s stand at the World Road Congress, which is taking place this week at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Once finished, the bridge will connect Al Seef area in Bur Dubai to the Deira side of the creek.
When the project was first revealed in April, it was described as being on the scale of the Dubai Frame and inspired by the hanging gardens of Babylon.
Similar bridge projects have been pitched all over the world, most famously in London, though that was later axed.
The aim of the project is to boost tourism in the area and build on attractions such as the Dubai Frame and beachfront area La Mer.
