Coronavirus: UAE records 375 new Covid-19 cases

No deaths were recorded while 297 people recovered from the virus

Another 375 cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the UAE on Wednesday, after 47,000 tests were conducted.

The infections brought the country's tally to 59,921. At least 297 people recovered from the virus, adding to the 53,202 total recoveries since the outbreak.

Authorities said no deaths were recorded so the country's death toll remains at 347. The number of patients currently fighting the coronavirus is 6,372.

The UAE has carried out almost 5 million tests, making it one of the top countries to test per capita.

On Wednesday, Abu Dhabi raised the capacity limit for restaurants and cafes to 80 per cent, as another sign of a gradual return to pre-virus economic activity.

Precautionary measures remain in place to protect the public, including physical distancing, temperature checks on entry, regular disinfection of premises and frequent testing for employees.
