ABU DHABI // Danat Al Emarat, the emirate’s newest dedicated hospital for women and children has begun accepting patients.

The hospital officially opened on Thursday to mark the Accession Day of Sheikh Zayed as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

Cheow Seng Lee, hospital chief executive, said: “We have chosen this date to once again demonstrate our commitment in continuing Sheikh Zayed’s and his successor Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed’s vision of developing the healthcare sector in the emirate to offer citizens and residents a better quality of life.”

The five-storey facility located in the Bain Al Jesrain area in Khaleej Al Arabi Street has 150 beds, a VIP floor, 10 delivery suites and four operating theatres.

“Women and children in Abu Dhabi now have a place to go for all their needs, in all stages of their lives,” said Mr Lee.

The hospital also offers paediatrics, neonatology, surgery, women’s diagnostic and breast imaging, and comprehensive outpatient services in general and internal medicine.

There is also a 24-hour walk-in clinic, laboratory and imaging facility on site.

Mothers are also offered additional support during pregnancy such as antenatal classes and massage.

It is the latest indicator of the fast paced growth of the health sector in the UAE.
