Visa applications should become a faster process in Dubai from August as medical centres there adopt a new electronic recording system.

A new paperless system is being rolled out by Dubai Health Authority customers to finish all their medical test procedures from one centre or through one of the 40 DHA-approved printing centres.

The new system is part of DHA service and facility expansion plans to improve the customer experience and hike up satisfaction ratings.

All expats living in the UAE are required by law to complete a medical fitness test that includes blood tests and X-rays to complete a residency, employment or education visa application.

“Implementing the new system will achieve three main objectives,” said Maisa Al Bostani, director of the Medical Fitness Services Department at DHA.

“They will improve the customer’s journey, reduce the waiting time and provide all the services needed at one place.

“The DHA has approved 40 printing centres to complete the procedures of the customers electronically and in line with the new system’s requirements.

“This was done to ensure a smooth workflow for customers seeking to receive their medical fitness test certificates while the system is being implemented in phases at medical fitness centres spread across Dubai.”
