The hazy weather over much of the country will persist on Sunday, with cloud cover increasing over the islands, northern and eastern areas.

Winds will kick up dust and lead to poor visibility, particularly over exposed areas and the sea, the National Centre of Meteorology forecast.

The Arabian Gulf will be moderate to rough, with similar conditions in the Sea of Oman.

Maximum temperatures will hit 39°C on Sunday in some parts of the country, with lowest temperatures dipping to a chilly 17°C in the mountains.

Humidity, meanwhile, while could reach 85 per cent along the coastal areas.

The NCM has forecast the hazy weather to continue well into mid-week.
