UAE weather: More rain expected as 'towering clouds' form over Northern Emirates
More temperamental weather is expected this weekend with bouts of rain and thunder hit some parts of the country
More temperamental weather is expected over the weekend with spells of rain and thunder hitting some parts of the country.
Rainfall on Thursday freshened conditions in Dubai, Fujairah and other parts of the UAE.
The cloud formation will continue to increase over scattered areas, with more rain expected to fall across the country on Friday and Saturday, said the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.
Easterly to north-easterly winds moderate in general may cause blowing dust over exposed areas, according to forecasters.
Residents who wished to go for outdoor activities were told by NCMS forecasters to be on the lookout. Towering clouds may be associated with rainfall and fresh winds causing rough sea at times.
Sea will be moderate, becoming rough at times. Coastal areas could have winds up to 38 kilometres an hour and maximum temperatures of 32°C.
Inland areas could have winds up to 34kph and maximum temperatures of 33°C.
Temperatures will range from 18°C to 32°C along the coast and 14°C to 33°C in the interior regions.
Humidity is also expected to reach 85 per cent across internal areas, increasing at night and in the early morning.
Footage of lightning and thunder in Dubai were shared online.
Slight to moderate rain lashed Jumeirah. A spot of rain and lightning was reported on Sheikh Zayed Road.
