A campaign to promote efficient home appliances has received an encouraging response, its organiser says.
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority launched the initiative, Do Good to Planet Earth, to encourage residents to buy energy and water-efficient home appliances.
The campaign has received an encouraging response from the public as shown by an increase in average sales by major makers of eco-friendly appliances, the authority said.
It is hoping to reduce energy demand by 30 per cent by 2030.
