Two men who sexually abused a schoolboy over a period of three months after striking up a friendship by offering him cash and driving lessons have each been jailed for one year.

The two Pakistani defendants, both 34, also sent the 13-year-old victim video recordings of an adult nature on WhatsApp as part of their sordid plot.

Their crimes were only uncovered when the teenager confided in his brother, Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The boy's brother told their father about his ordeal on October 6 of last year.

Police were then alerted.

The victim said he had met the two men during a visit to a friend's apartment.

“My friend lived in the same building and I met the defendant during one of the visits to my friend,” said the schoolboy.

He said that he was offered cash and sent adult recordings on WhatsApp.

The court heard the boy was abused a number of times.

“When I refused I was gagged to stop me from shouting,” the victim told prosecutors.

“When it was done they would apologise and say it is the last time.”

The men denied sex abuse charges but were convicted in court.

Both men will be deported once they have served their sentence.
