ABU DHABI // Two men who shot two police officers during a drugs sting in Bani Yas had their death sentences commuted to life in prison by the Appeals Court today.
MK, Emirati, and FA, Omani, were also fined Dh50,000 each and ordered to pay Dh100,000 damages to each of the policemen
The pair tried to sell 20kg of hashish to the two undercover agents in Bani Yas in February.
When they realised the men were police they tried to shoot their way out.
The Omani was arrested at the scene, while the Emirati escaped. He was arrested two hours later trying to flee to Yemen.
