DUBAI // The organisers of annual awards recognising patronage of the arts have extended their deadline for applications by two weeks.
Saeed al Nabouda, the acting director general of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, which hosts the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum Patrons of the Arts Awards (PAA), said the decision was made following an overwhelming response.
"The new deadline will offer more opportunities for patrons, as well as art galleries and cultural organisations, to take part in the awards," he said.
The deadline for applications for 2010 contributions, which had been January 31, has been extended until next Tuesday.
The awards will be handed out following the Art Dubai art fair, which will be held from March 16 to 19.
