Jesse Lingard tracks his Dubai fitness journey on Instagram during Manchester United fixture break

The midfielder is absent from England's Euro 2020 qualifiers

Jesse Lingard's timing on the pitch is often just right - and the Manchester United midfielder may have timed his trip to Dubai to perfection as well.

The UAE is set for a "rapid change in weather conditions" in the next few days with a big rise in temperature towards the mid 30s, according the national weather forecaster, so Lingard's rehabilitation trip could end up rather sweatier than he anticipated.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been in Dubai for a couple of days now and has been making the most of welcoming conditions compared to the United Kingdom.

Flying out to Dubai as part of players' injury recuperation is becoming a well-worn path for Premier League stars, who are welcomed by excellent facilities and privacy as well as the obvious climate benefits.

Lingard has been keeping his 6.2 million followers on Instagram up to date on his progress with regular videos of his workouts, which have included shuttle runs out on the grass, cycling on the static bike and weights sessions at the Nad Al Sheba Complex. He then embarked on the popular crossbar challenge.

He missed four matches after being forced off with a hamstring injury during the goalless draw with Liverpool last month, before returning in the FA Cup defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

It was decided he should work on his fitness rather than join up with the England squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers this week. United are next in Premier League action against Watford on March 30.

Lingard and his United teammates were in Dubai in January for a warm weather training camp.

The likes of Arsenal's Danny Welbeck and Tottenham Hotspur's Dele Alli have also since been to the emirate in their bid to speed up their recovery times from injury.

Alli, 22, also found the time to visit well-known Dubai businessman Saif Belhasa' private zoo which features many exotic animals.

A number of Lingard's United teammates have also been forced to miss the international schedule due to injury.

Luke Shaw has pulled out of the England squad, while Anthony Martial will miss France's fixtures, Nemanja Matic is absent for Serbia and Romelu Lukaku is a doubt for Belgium.

Arsenal meanwhile will play Al Nasr in Dubai on March 26 to mark the official opening of the refurbished Al Maktoum Stadium.
