Cosmin Olaroiu, the Al Ain coach, is furious at the delay by Professional League Committee's competition committee in resolving an appeal from Al Wahda.
The four-time league champions were docked three Etisalat Cup points for naming an ineligible player in the squad in their 2-1 win over Al Nasr on January 3.
Nasr were awarded the points and they have taken the Dubai club's tally to 11, reviving hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals from Group A.
"Almost a month has passed and two rounds of matches have been played and still the PLC competition committee has not arrived at a decision," the Romanian said.
"Any team in this situation would want to know where they stand to qualify for the knockout stage of this competition.
"Here we are playing against a team without actually knowing the actual situation after this game. The delay is unjustified because the rules are clear in this case."
Having forfeited three points, Wahda are on 13 and are one behind Al Ain, who play Nasr on Friday night at the Tahnoun bin Mohammed stadium.
However, Wahda only have one game left in the competition - tonight's trip to Dubai - whereas Nasr and Al Ain have two.
Only the top team in each of the three groups is guaranteed a semi-final spot, while the best runner-up will also qualify.
Al Ain are unbeaten in 20 games in all competitions since their 6-3 home defeat by Al Ahli in the opening night of the Pro League on September 23.
But they are without their UAE internationals - Omar Abdulrahman, Mohammed Ahmed, Mohanad Salem Al Enazi and Dawoud Sulaiman - who are all at a training camp in China preparing for the Asian Cup qualifier against Vietnam on Wednesday.
They are also without Asamoah Gyan, the Ghana captain who is leading his country against Cape Verde in tomorrow's quarter finals of the African Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Nasr will be less affected by the national team duties with only Habib Fardan in the UAE squad in China.
Also tonight, in Group B, top-placed Al Jazira will be without six of their players on national duty when they take on Kalba at home. Baniyas, a point behind, will be ready to pounce on any slip-up when they host Al Wasl.
