Travel news: Olympic Museum reopens in Lausanne, Switzerland

Olympic Museum reopens in Lausanne

The largest Olympic archive in the world has been redesigned as a three- level “Olympic Campus”, serving as a “permanent tribute to everyone who has lived the Olympic dream over the years.”

Situated on the Quais d’Ouchy, the museum features an indoor museum and a park, which, with its combined elements of the athletics track (where visitors can measure their speed against some of the world’s greatest athletes) and a garden of Olympic records.

The Olympic Museum features state-of-the-art technology, as well as the Olympic Studies Centre (www.olympic.org/museum).

Dnata launches new packages for spring

The Dubai-based tour operator Dnata has launched a series of package deals for the spring-summer season, with destinations including Malaysia and the Maldives.

Guests can stay at the Taaras Beach & Spa Resort on Redang Island, off Malaysia’s east coast, from just Dh2,799 per person, including taxes, for three nights, based on two people sharing.

The 191-room hotel is a private beach resort accessible by air. The price includes flights, accommodation, breakfast and dinner and airport transfers, some activities and a 75-minute spa treatment and is valid for travel until June 14.

For those looking for a complete spa holiday, Dnata is also offering packages for The Chateau, an organic spa and wellness resort in Berjaya Hills, a 45-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur.

The 200-room hotel is situated in the rainforest and centred around La Santé, a European-style spa that offers individualised programmes including weight loss, stress relief, pre- and postnatal care and pampering.

A “Stress Relief” package starts from Dh6,030 per person, including flights, transfers, accommodation, all-organic meals, a consultation, seven treatments and all taxes and service charges. Valid for travel until October 31; for bookings, email luxuryhotels@dnata.com.
