Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is an ideal sport for those looking for excitement off Abu Dhabi's coast. Developed from a combination of surfing, water skiing and snowboarding, the wakeboarder stands on a board and is pulled behind a speedboat. It has grown into a popular sport in the Emirates and continues to grow.
RJ Performance Marine
This is a small operation run by four people. For Dh250 you get a day of wakeboarding. including the use of equipment.

Diving
The UAE is an excellent place to dive. The waters in the Arabian Gulf and the Indian Ocean are rich in marine and coral life and its warm waters allow for diving all year round. Expect to see an abundance of barracuda, small sharks, sea turtles and much more. Diving centres have classes for all abilities with diving groups running from The Club, the Al Jazira Dive Centre and the Intercontinental hotel.

Fishing
Fishing on the Arabian Gulf is a popular pastime in the UAE. The best time to fish is in the cooler months from September to April and you can catch anything from a sailfish to a jack. Deep-sea fishing is also available.
In Abu Dhabi, the Beach Rotana, Intercontinental, Sheraton Corniche and Golden Tulip Al Jazira hotels run fishing trips.
Al Dhafra (02-673 2266) also have traditional Dhows for charter from around Dh150 an hour.
