Transporting your supercar around the globe just got easier with today's launch of Etihad's new FlightValet service.

The initiative from Etihad Cargo, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier's cargo and logistics arm, coincides with the most popular time of year for UAE motorists taking their cars abroad, as they look to escape the summer heat and decamp to Europe with their supercars.

Etihad says FlightValet will be staffed by “a dedicated team that will oversee the swift, safe and secure delivery of the vehicle to its final destination”, with the service available to customers who want to transport their luxury vehicles immediately.

It will also cater to petrolheads who want to take their cars to racetracks around the word, such as Abu Dhabi’s Formula One track, the Yas Marina Circuit.

Two summers ago, Etihad Cargo launched a service offering first and business class passengers 20 per cent off air-cargo rates and their seat, with the car delivered straight to the driver's doorstep.

European destinations included Amsterdam, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Paris and Zurich. Since then, Etihad has annually transported hundreds of cars around the world on its freight and passenger planes.

The new service will particularly target the Italian supercar market, via Milan Malpensa Airport.

“FlightValet is the latest addition to Etihad Cargo’s suite of high-value products, which includes our arts and musical instruments product FlyCulture, launched last year with the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and our signature pharma and life sciences product TempCheck,” said Abdulla Mohamed Shadid, Etihad Airways' managing director of cargo and logistics.
