I-Spy: Mercedes CLS Shooting Break spotted on race track

The first generation of Mercedes' CLS in 2004 started the market for a kind of car that ignited controversial discussions among car enthusiasts: the four-door coupé. Mercedes then presented a concept of a CLS estate version in 2010; the reactions were positive and the car got the green light for production. The CLS Shooting Break will be revealed this year and first test drives have already started. Our photo of a slightly camouflaged prototype shows that the car won't differ too much from the concept, meaning that the rear and the front will only get small cosmetic changes. The range of available engines won't differ a lot from the four-door CLS, which means four- and six-cylinder diesel engines as well as six- and eight-cylinder petrol units, from 204hp up to 408hp. Prices are expected to be slightly higher than those of the four-door coupé.
