It is not every day that we get to peer behind the gilded curtain of French fashion and see what goes into the making of a big-name fashion shoot, but today, we get to do exactly that.

Alongside a slick new advertising campaign, of images and a video, Christian Dior has also released a behind-the-scenes video of how it was all made.

Shot in black and white by Brigitte Lacombe, the same photographer who created the campaign images, it features an assortment of vibrant young models, including house favourite Ruth Bell (and incidentally, her less famous, long-haired twin sister, May Bell) all clad in the latest arrivals.

Sticking to the feminist attitude spearheaded by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior's creative director, the women are strident, upbeat, oh so utterly beautiful.

Tantalisingly, the clothes are treated almost as an afterthought, and fly past our eyes, keeping us guessing. Instead the focus is very much kept on these women and their personalities, and not even the use of stark monotone can hide the fun they all seem to be having. Take a look.
