Rumour has it that Coca-Cola distributors regularly use the popular soft drink to clean the engines of their delivery trucks. It's probably best not to dwell on what this might mean for the average cola drinker's insides, but it does highlight the drink's excellent cleaning properties.
You can call upon a trusty can of Coke - or indeed any other brand of cola - to help with a number of household tasks. For example, if you have a burnt pot, for example, pour some cola into it, bring it to the boil, stir it and then remove it from the heat. When you pour the cola away, any burnt residue should go with the liquid.
Cola also makes for an excellent toilet cleaner. Pour a litre of the stuff into your toilet bowl, let it sit for an hour, and then scrub and flush. If this doesn't leave the bowl sparkling, nothing will.
It's also a great rust buster. Soak any rusted material in cola overnight, and then give it a scrub in the morning. You should find that the rust comes off easily.
Finally, try using it to get rid of hiccups. Gargling a big mouthful of ice-cold Coke is supposed to be a sure-fire way to make them stop.
