British royalty met pop royalty last night in India, as Prince Charles and Katy Perry crossed paths at a charitable event.
The Firework singer attended a meeting for The British Asian Trust, a charity set up by the Prince of Wales in 2007 that aims to address poverty and hardship in South Asia through a series of programmes focusing on everything from education to mental health.
"Musician Katy Perry had heard about the work of the Trust and joined other supporters to learn more about the charity," Clarence House, the office of Prince Charles, wrote on Instagram alongside an image of the two.
The event was held in Mumbai, during the royal's two-day official visit to India. Perry, meanwhile, is in the country to perform her first concert in the city, headlining the OnePlus Music Festival on Saturday, November 16.
The American singer shared the same photograph with her 86 million Instagram followers, wishing Prince Charles a happy birthday as the royal turns 71 today.
"Happiest 71st His Royal Highness Prince Charles! It was a pleasure spending a little time with you and many brilliant Indian minds looking for incredible solutions to making India a more wonderful place through your organisation," she wrote.
"I’m so glad some of the focus is on sustainability and solutions to protecting the environment."
Prince Charles landed in New Delhi yesterday, embarking on his second trip to the country in two years. He last visited India in 2017.

Since arriving in the country, he has visited Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the place of worship for Sikhs in the city, and met members of the public at a community kitchen in the temple.
According to Clarence House, "sustainable markets, climate change and social finance" will be the focus of Prince of Wales's visit to India. He took a ride in an electric, battery-operated rickshaw, and visited the India Meteorological Department. During the meeting, he discussed ways to "strengthen disaster resilience and tackle the effects of climate change".

Following his engagements in India, the Prince of Wales will journey to New Zealand, where he will be joined by the Duchess of Cornwall for a five-day visit.
Prince Charles will then continue to Tuvalu and the Solomon Islands while the duchess will return to the UK.
