If you’ve been wanting to use all that extra time you have at home to upgrade your cooking skills, then Airbnb might have just the thing for you.

The accommodation provider has introduced a new series of online experiences that will be led by Michelin-starred and award-winning chefs around the globe.

Some big names will lead the cooking, including David Chang, founder of culinary brand Momofuku and host of Netflix's Ugly Delicious, and Edward Lee of the celebrated 610 Magnolia restaurant, as well as television shows The Mind of a Chef and Top Chef.

Each of the masterclasses will be hosted via Zoom and last around one hour with prices ranging from about $40 (Dh146) to $100 (Dh368). Sessions have a maximum of 20 participants so that everyone joining is guaranteed plenty of interaction with the food experts.

New York-based restaurateur and celebrity chef David Chang will be teaching those joining him how to cook a one-pot Danube and spilling secrets on some of the best recipes he’s come up with while he’s been isolating at home.

“As a chef we connect with our guests through our food, but we don’t often have the chance to share and explore the stories behind dishes with diners directly,” explained Chang.

“These online experiences give us the opportunity to do that, while paving the way for chefs from around the world to connect with guests virtually from afar.”

Ed Lee is set to help participants master a southern barbecue. The celebrity chef will talk grilling techniques, marinating tips and summer barbecue secrets.

Claudetta Zepedeta from San Diego’s acclaimed Mexican joint El Jardin will be talking cauliflower tacos, while Roze Traroe – chef, cultural ambassador, globe-trotter and all-round life enthusiast – is set to shed light on a host of his favourite summer recipes.

The pink-haired maestro is the only female chef to have been awarded a Michelin star in Rome will show users how to make delicious dinners from fish, seafood, and a whole lot of pasta.

In total, there’s 28 experience to pick from so you can pick one that suits, whether that's based on what you want to cook or the chef you fancy having a zoom with. Some of the classes are one-off sessions and booking for these virtual experiences will open on July 6.

The chef’s series is the latest addition to Airbnb’s online experiences which launched in April.
