Numaish brings together clothes from Gaurang and jewels from Kishandas & Co

The trunk show is in Dubai on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31

Navrasa, as referenced in Sanskrit scriptures, represents the nine emotions that humans show, including love, laughter, compassion, courage and tranquility.

It's also the name of Indian designer Gaurang Shah's latest collection, which he'll bring to the UAE as part of Numaish. The one-off trunk show - where you can try and buy on the spot - will precede the annual Indian-wear exhibition (which takes place at the end of September), on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31 at Taj Dubai.

What sets this show apart is that it combines the creative forces of Hyderabad designer Gaurang - who's known for his opulent saris, lehengas and anarkali and bridal-wear - with heritage jewellery from Kishandas & Co.

Even if you're not in the market for such an expensive piece at the moment, they sure make for a fun day of dress-up.

Gaurang, who is a regular on the Lakme Fashion Week runways, also works with 4,000 craftsmen and 700 weavers across India, in a bid to revive textiles and craftsmanship. revival movement. His most famous works include Kanjeevaram saris in organza, bridal-wear created on hand looms and outfits adorned using the jamdani technique of weaving, which is known for its labour-intensive motifs such as the Tree of Life.
