It was a star-studded event that attracted supermodels, Grammy winners and acclaimed actresses, but the dresses were shining as brightly as the CVs in New York on Friday night.

To herald the start of New York Fashion Week, Harper's Bazaar US held its annual Icons party, which also celebrate the fashion magazine's September issue, guided by global fashion director Carine Roitfeld.

The event saw the likes of Somali-American model Halima Aden, Spider-Man star Zendaya and singer-songwriter Alicia Keys don their red-carpet best for the bash, which was held the Plaza Hotel on September 6.

Among the dazzling gowns on the night were a host of Middle Eastern labels, who dressed some of the event's most famous faces.

Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco ensured musician Kehlani made quite an entrance in a scarlet feathered creation.

With a theatrical tiered skirt, delicately adorned in flumes, and a retro off-shoulder cut, the number scored a place on many of the night's best-dressed lists.

Lebanon's Georges Hobeika was also well represented at the party, dressing both model Georgia Fowler and actress Lily Collins.

New Zealander Fowler stole the limelight in a glimmering mini complete with an olive-hued train, while Les Miserables star Collins sported a crystal-encrusted, sheer-skirted dress.

Plenty of sparkle was also on the cards for singer-songwriter Normani, who turned to Beirut's Rami Kadi for a yellow corseted dress, layered underneath a silver chainmail-inspired gown.

Paris Hilton, meanwhile, sported a golden full-length number by Kuwait's Yousef Al Jasmi, which made the heiress resemble a real-life Oscar statuette.

The Icons party featured a performance from Keys, fresh off her appearance in Dubai for Tony Robbins's Achieve the Unimaginable seminar.
