The third property in the three-hotel Al Habtoor City complex expects to open doors in August, adding a thousand more rooms on the already crowded Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.
In a bid to stand out among the luxury hotels on the strip, the hotel complex expects to open its 1,300-people capacity aqua theatre early next year. Pre-bookings for its La Perle show can be made at the end of this year, according to an Al Habtoor Group spokeswoman.
Al Habtoor City’s third property Westin Dubai - Al Habtoor City comprises 1,004 rooms and six dining venues.
The hotel complex on the banks of the upcoming Dubai Canal has already added hundreds of new rooms to Dubai as continued supply has surpassed hotel room demand, pushing down the average room rates.
During the first two weeks of Ramadan, room rates declined 9 per cent in the city compared to the same period during Ramadan last year, according to research company STR. The emirate had 82,760 rooms as of the end of the first quarter.
Operated by Starwood Hotels and Resorts, the W Dubai – Al Habtoor City opened last week, and The St Regis Dubai at the end of last year.
The St Regis Dubai features 234 rooms and eight restaurants. The 33-storey W Dubai – Al Habtoor City has 356 rooms, and where the guests check in on the 30th floor lobby. The property includes five food and beverage outlets.
La Perle, a theatrical show fashioned after the extravagant Las Vegas performances, will have a permanent home at the complex. The shows will be produced by the Franco Dragone Entertainment Group.
