DUBAI // First it was a fleet of supercars marshalling the roads of Dubai, now the emirate’s police force has unveiled a new super boat reported to be the “fastest police boat in the GCC”.

On display at the Dubai International Boat Show, the boat, which was built by Victory Team, is 10 metres long.

Dubai Police's range of supercars include a McLaren MP4-12C, Audi R8, a Mercedes SL 63, a Mercedes G class Brabus, a Nissan GTR, a Bugatti Veyron, an Aston Martin One-77 and a Ferrari FF, all decorated in the force's livery.

Col Nabil Abdulla Al Redha, Dubai Police fleet director, said in November last year that the cars were used solely as means of promoting the police force and the city rather than in high-speed persuits.

“This is promoting the image of Dubai, this is just advertising. Because most people like sports cars,” he said. “If you are putting an advert for just Dubai Police, perhaps not many people would be interested.

“But if you put an advert for a sports car, most people would be interested; people would be more attracted.”
