Director: Rusudan Chkonia
Expand your knowledge of contemporary Georgian cinema with this curious dark comedy set in Tbilisi. Keep Smiling, the debut feature drama of its writer and director Chkonia, takes a twisted look at reality TV culture, following a group of disparate women who enter a show for mums hoping to win US$25,000 (Dh91,830) and a new apartment. Things quickly take a turn for the worse, however, when Georgian Mothers reveals itself to be nothing more than an exploitative Hunger Games-style exercise in humiliation.
Marina Mall , Vox 6 Cinema, 7pm tonight.
