Bahraini TV presenter and actress Sabrin Burshaid has died following her fight with cancer, her father confirmed on Monday.
The 34-year-old star of 2012's Zain's Flashlight passed away after losing a battle with lymphoma, a form of cancer that develops in the immunity-boosting white blood cells.
The TV personality's father, Ahmed, confirmed the news on Instagram, posting a prayer before writing, "Sabrine died, god will reward you," which is a common Arabic term of condolence:
Burshaid , who worked in Kuwait at the ATV channel and appeared in a number of Ramadan shows, was diagnosed with the disease earlier this year.
She revealed the news to her 1.1 million Instagram followers in April, and underwent chemotherapy treatment. The comments on almost all of the posts on her Instagram are now flooded with messages of condolence and sadness from her friends:
According to multiple media reports, Burshaid was also diagnosed with three brain tumours and sought medical treatment overseas, with the help of Bahrain's Health Ministry.
Her last post was on June 28, wishing her brother a happy birthday, calling him "the best brother and friend". In the one before that, on June 5, Burshaid wrote, "Eid Mubarak my loves, I've missed you all."
There was a big break in her Instagram before the Eid post, but on April 11 she put up a picture of a prayer asking for good health and quick recovery for her, and for others:
