Vintage rock n’ rollers Status Quo will pay tribute to recently deceased band member Rick Parfitt when they take to the stage at Dubai Opera on October 27.

The British band recently lost one of two of its main faces, when singer and guitarist Parfitt died on December 24, at the age of 68, from an infection of a pre-existing shoulder injury.

However co-frontman Francis Rossi decreed the boogie would not stop — and the remaining members will be back on the road from April in tribute to Parfait. The tour is entitled Last Night of the Electrics, implying it could be the last time Rossi, 67, and bandmates Andrew Bown, John “Rhino” Edwards, Leon Cave and Richie Malone perform together.

Since their first releases in 1968, The Quo — as they’re affectionally known — claim to have clocked record sales of 118 million, spending a combined 415 weeks on the British singles charts.

Best known for singalongs Whatever You Want and Rockin' All Over the World, Status Quo performed at Dubai's Gulf Bike Festival in 2010.

Tickets go on sale today (February 23) at 2pm from www.dubaiopera.com.
