We're gearing up to the end of awards season, with the 92nd Academy Awards set to take place on Sunday, February 9. If you're the kind of movie buff who likes to have seen your selection of Best Picture nominated flicks, you're in luck. Whether it's to stream or watch in selected cinemas, all nine of the Best Picture Oscar nominated movies are currently available to watch in the UAE. Here is where to see them:
'Jojo Rabbit'
Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit may have been out internationally for some time, but it is hitting UAE cinemas a matter of days before the Oscars. The Second World War satire is set to be released on Thursday, January 30. The story follows a lonely German boy, Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis), whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother Rosie (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl Elsa (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic.

'Joker'
Joaquin Phoenix's run as Arthur Fleck, the Joker, has been lauded, and the performance translated to box office success. The movie was released in October last year, but is being given another run in select cinemas. Vox Mall of the Emirates, Dubai, is currently showing the movie daily in distraction-free screenings, as is Roxy Cinema, The Beach, Dubai.

'Little Women'
Like Jojo Rabbit, Greta Gerwig's Little Women is only just getting its UAE-wide release this week. The remake of the 1994 movie, and dramatisation of the Louisa May Alcott novel, of the same name has an all-star cast of Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Timothee Chalamet, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep. The film will be in cinemas around the UAE from Thursday, January 30.

'Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood'
Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood was released in UAE cinemas back in August last year. If you missed the alternative retelling of a classic Hollywood story the first time round, you have another chance to watch it now. Like Joker, Vox Mall of the Emirates, Dubai, and Roxy Cinemas are showing the movie at City Walk, The Beach and Boxpark in Dubai.

The film, starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson, debuted on Netflix on December 5, 2019, and is an engrossing insight into the breakdown of a marriage and family, and the love and heartbreak that comes with it.

'1917'
Sam Mendes's First World War epic 1917 is currently in cinemas across the UAE, having been released on Thursday, January 9. The film chronicles the journey of two young British soldiers who are given a near-impossible mission to deliver a message that would stop an ill-fated attack.

'Parasite'
Bong Joon-ho's Parasite was been given a wide UAE release on Thursday, January 16. See the Korean language film at select Vox Cinemas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi; Reel Cinema at The Dubai Mall and Roxy Cinema, The Beach, Dubai. The film, which is the only non-English language film in the category, sees unemployed young man Kim Ki-taek (Kang-ho Song) start work for a wealthy family, when a peculiar series of events starts to unravel.

'Le Mans 66: Ford v Ferrari'
Le Mans 66: Ford v Ferrari is another Academy Award nominated movie to be given an extended run. Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in the racing flick, which was originally released in November last year, but is still available to catch at Vox Mall of the Emirates, Dubai; Reel Cinema at The Dubai Mall and Roxy Cinema, The Beach, Dubai.

'The Irishman'
Martin Scorsese's crime drama The Irishman debuted on Netflix in November last year, so it too is available for everyone who has a subscription to the site to stream at home. Starring seasoned gangster movie veterans, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, the film has a run-time of 209 minutes and has been described as a must-see for fans of the genre.
