There are so many cool galleries now at Alserkal Avenue, that it might take a few weeks to get round all the shows. This weekend, why not make time for the circular, swirling canvases that fill FN Designs. The exhibition, titled Saturate, is from Dubai-based artist Kathryn Wilson. She uses oil, acrylic and spray paint to depict the ever changing form of water; from mountainous swells that barrel across an open sea to the light permeating through the surface of a wadi pool. Visual references derived from the natural world are presented in impressionistic form with a rich and vibrant palette.
Wilson’s abstract work has evolved over time and now, these paintings are port-holes to her inspiration and are well worth a visit.
