ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi Municipality has issued 120 warnings to building owners for violating rules about installing satellite dishes.

The municipality said on Monday that it had carried out an inspection campaign to curtail the installation of satellite dishes on rooftops and balconies.

A building can have only four central satellite dishes installed on its rooftop, according to municipal regulations. Satellite dishes also cannot be installed on balconies or facades.

The municipality described the high number of dishes haphazardly placed on rooftops as an “eyesore” that hampers periodic maintenance work.

They also make it difficult to deliver relief equipment to rooftops in emergencies, the municipality said.
