Where in the UAE to donate to Kerala floods relief

Hospitals, charities, non-government organisations and business owners have rallied together to raise funds and collect emergency relief items to be sent to help the victims of flooding in Kerala.

The floods are the worst the southern state has experienced for 100 years. More than 350 people have died as a result.

These are the organisations UAE residents can contribute to:

Charities

Hospitals

Universal Hospital in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain are leading collections.

Canadian Specialist Hospital in Dubai is running a collection until Friday. For more information, contact Anoop Achuthan on 056 6329915 or Cherian Gregorious on 055 1053432.

Centres

Abu Dhabi: Kerala Social Centre (026314455), Indian Social Centre (026730066), Abu Dhabi Malayalee Samjam (025537600) and the Indian Ladies Association (026330182) are each opening collection points at their offices.

Items needed: blankets, first aid kits, soaps, candles, sanitary pads, toothbrushes and toothpaste, disinfectants, cleaning equipment, pampers, clothes for children, dry food, shoes, utensils.

Send a message of support:

UAE residents can deliver their support by donating cash via SMS. The Dubai Media Office has posted a video on its Twitter account with information on how to help out under the #UAESupportsKerala tagline.

International cash donations:

Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala, has set up the Distress Relief Fund and called on all non-resident Indians to support the drive: https://donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in/

Amazon's India website (amazon.in) has listed three NGO's under a 'Kerala needs your help' tab. UAE debit and credit cards can be used on the site to purchase emergency relief items listed to be distributed in the south Indian state.
