ABU DHABI // The UAE Red Crescent Authority has supported 556 disabled Palestinians by helping them set up sustainable projects.

As part of the UAE Fund for Rehabilitation of Palestinians loans were given to Palestinians to assist them in creating small business projects that would suit their abilities, said government news agency Wam.

Around Dh20 million has been allocated to the fund by the Red Crescent Authority.

Dr Kamal Al Sharafi, minister for Social Affairs in Palestine, said the project to help disabled people in the Palestinian territories was the first successful one of its kind.
