UAE foreign minister meets with Iranian counterpart in Tehran

Sheikh Abdullah said during the meeting that the UAE leadership, government and people were keen to develop relations with Iran in all fields, adding that strong ties could reflect positively on the region.

ABU DHABI // Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed yesterday met with his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Salehi, in Tehran.

Mr Salehi welcomed Sheikh Abdullah, stressing his keenness to develop ties between the two countries.

Sheikh Abdullah said during the meeting that the UAE leadership, government and people were keen to develop relations with Iran in all fields, adding that strong ties could reflect positively on the region.

Sheikh Abdullah said: "We are keen in the UAE on more communication at both public and private levels."
