Commuters faced heavy congestion in and out of Dubai on Sunday morning with tailbacks on major thoroughfares.
Motorists traveling on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road from the National Paints roundabout in Sharjah to Mirdif City Centre were caught in long queues. Congestion was also reported in Airport Road, Al Warqa, Mirdif and Al Nahda.
Further bottlenecks occurred in Al Wahda Street in Sharjah from Industrial area 7 towards Dubai International Airport.
In Sharjah, there were two accidents: one in industrial area S102 and another in E88.
A fifteen-minute delay is expected on Al Qudus Street towards Dubai and delays are expected towards 12 street and the Sharjah Ring Road.
A traffic jam was reported in Abu Dhabi in Al Shahama Road at the Eastern Mangroves and Khaleej Al Arabi and route from Al Ain towards Abu Dhabi.
