Emirates was the first international airline to touch down at Muscat International Airport's new passenger terminal on Tuesday.
A "Year of Zayed" Boeing 777-300ER aircraft was deployed to celebrate the ties between the UAE and Oman, and was the first scheduled commercial flight to the new facility.

Flight EK 864 landed from Dubai at 5.55pm with passengers from destinations including Dhaka, Baghdad and Dammam.
Emirates has been flying to Oman since 1993 and this year celebrates 25 years of operations to the country.
The airline currently operates three daily flights to Muscat, also connecting Omani travellers to more than 150 global destinations.
Muscat's new passenger terminal will have a capacity of 48 million passengers a year.
