A crash on the main route into Abu Dhabi city caused long tailbacks on Sheikh Zayed Bridge during Tuesday morning rush hour.

Traffic had slowed to 5kph over the bridge heading into the city at 8.15am as a result of the minor crash, which occurred at around 7.40am.

Motorists reported delays of up to 20 minutes on their usual commuting times.

Two further small accidents on the other side of the road, one opposite the Ministries turn-off and the second just before the exit before Sheikh Zayed Bridge heading towards Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, resulted in further tailbacks stretching back to the Mangrove National Park.
