The man allegedly lured the child behind the reception desk by promising to show him the security cameras
Security guard denies sexually assaulting 6-year-old boy
A cleaner and security guard denied molesting a 6-year-old boy in the security room of the building where he works, Dubai Criminal Court heard.
Court records show that on October 3 this year, the Egyptian child told his mother what happened to him while she was giving him a bath.
She said that her son had been playing in the park with his friend who lives in the next building. “His friend went back home to bring something and my son followed him. The defendant, who works in the building, called for him, then took him behind the reception desk in the building,” said the mother, whose age was not disclosed in records.
She said her son told her the man lured him in with a promise to show him the security cameras, but he took him behind a desk and allegedly undressed him, before kissing the child on the lips and touching his genitals. The boy saw his friend in the corridor through the cameras and ran out from behind the desk to meet him.
“I was giving him a bath in the afternoon when he pointed at his private parts and said that the security guard from the next building did something bad to him. I questioned him and he told me what happened,” said the mother. She then went to find the defendant, but couldn't so she called police.
A policeman said he checked the CCTV footage and saw the guard taking to the child behind the reception desk. “I saw as he kissed the boy on the cheek and lips and when I confronted him, he admitted to it,” said the policeman.
However, in court on Sunday morning, the Indian defendant, 37, denied a sexual assault charge.
He awaits a verdict on December 25.
