A third UAE aircraft carrying aid from Emirates Red Crescent arrived in Sudan on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces, sent the plane to the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, carrying medicines, medical equipment, food and shelter.
The UAE has intensified its relief efforts to Sudan in the past week. There, severe flooding has killed more than 100 people and made thousands homeless.
Dr Mohammed Al Falahi, secretary general of the ERC, said the UAE was working with partners in Sudan to reduce the damage to health and the environment caused by the floods.
Sudan last week declared a three-month state of emergency because of the crisis.
The UN said the floods affected more than half a million people and destroyed or damaged tens of thousands of homes. Khartoum, North Darfur, in the country’s west, and Sennar in the south were the worst-hit states.
