Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held talks with Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, during his visit to the UAE.

The two leaders met at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the UAE and the Central Asian nation.

The pair discussed mutual opportunities relating to investment, the economy and culture and exchanged views on regional and international developments, according to state news agency, Wam.

The Kazakhstan President underlined the importance of his country’s relationship with the UAE and praised the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.

After the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Mr Nazarbayev witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Intent between representatives of the Ministry of Energy in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Prime Project Development Consultancy regarding investment in energy and others industries.

The agreement was signed by Waleed Salman, of Prime Project Development Consultancy, and Maazoum Merzagalyev, Deputy Minister of Energy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting and the memorandum exchange ceremony was attended by Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and the UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akhmetzhan Yessimov.
