Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed met New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, on Wednesday.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation held a meeting with Mr Peters in Abu Dhabi.

The two exchanged views on regional and international issues and stressed their desire to enhance bilateral ties, especially in the areas of renewable energy and counter terrorism.

The meeting, which was also attended by Matthew Hawkins, New Zealand's Ambassador to the UAE, focused on new opportunities between the UAE and New Zealand in areas of trade, investment and defence.

Following the discussions, Sheikh Abdullah and Mr Peters signed an agreement regarding several renewable energy projects between the two ministries.
