Legendary American TV host Larry King will be the guest of honour at a global conference in Sharjah next month.

The multi-award winning former CNN presenter - a powerhouse presence on the small screen for decades - will give an address at the eighth annual International Government Communication Forum, held in the emirate on March 20 and 21.

The forum investigates the role of government communication in supporting human capital development.

The broadcaster, renowned for his 25-year run presenter of the Larry King Live show on CNN, will headline a discussion moderated by Sheikh Sultan bin Sooud Al Qasimi, an eminent Emirati author and lecturer at the Yale University Council on Middle East Studies.

As well as being a familiar face to TV viewers, King has built up a following among younger generations through his presence on social media.

His ability to embrace modern media in order to deliver a message will be a key part of his speech.

During his illustrious career, the 85-year-old has conducted thousands of interviews, posing questions to everyone from political figures such as Bill Clinton and Vladimir Putin to acting great Marlon Brando, musical superstar Paul McCartney and basketball hero LeBron James.

The IGCF is expected to attract about 2,500 communication and technology experts, world leaders, top government officials and influencers from all over the world.
