SHARJAH // A Syrian girl injured after falling out of a school bus on Sunday will stay in hospital for three more weeks but does not require surgery, doctors say.
Zeina Kurdi, 6, fell through an open emergency door at the back of the bus as it was travelling along Jamal Abdul Nasser Street in Sharjah.
The driver told police he did not know how the emergency door opened. The girl was taken to Al Qassimi Hospital where she was treated for injuries to her leg.
Bashar Kurdi, her father, said school buses should have constant maintenance to ensure all doors were safe and properly secured.
Mr Kurdi said doctors had assured him that his daughter was in a stable condition and would have a fully recovery.
He said he planned to drop the complaint he filed with police against the school as soon as his daughter left hospital, reported Aletihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
