SHARJAH // A 10-year-old Algerian girl has been stabbed in the lift of an apartment building.
Police are investigating the incident that happened at about 4pm on Tuesday in Al Yasmin tower, between Al Wahda and Jamal Abdul Nasser Roads in Al Majaz 2.
Police have not established a motive for the attack.
The child was taken to Al Qassimi Hospital for treatment.
The incident has shocked families in the neighbourhood.
One parent who lives in a nearby building said the girl was a friend of her daughter and they attended mosque together. Her daughter is still in shock and has been trying to contact the victim’s family.
News of the incident spread quickly through the area, with a crowd gathering outside the building.
